Chorus, Piano and Guitar - 6th, 7th and 8th Grade

Chorus Classes

The fundamentals of proper vocal production is the focus of this class. Basic music theory, history of composers and genres, musical theater and sight-reading/singing are also covered. You can find a copy of the syllabus at the Resources link.

Beginning Piano Classes

Students will learn to read music notation as it relates to learning to play the piano. Music from a variety of historical periods and genres is used to enable the student to learn to evaluate and analyze the music as a performer and a listener. This is a class geared toward students who have never played piano before and each grade level is limited to 15 students. This class is taught in the Fall semester. Beginning Guitar Classes

Students will learn to play several basic chords and notes. A variety of songs from several genres will be taught to help the student learn to analyze and evaluate music from the perspective of the performer and the listener. Basic musicianship and theory are also taught with reference to music reading. Each grade is limited to 15 students. This class is taught in the Spring semester (January - May).
