I'm a Carolina girl, graduating from Lancaster High School and from Winthrop University with a B.A. in English and Education. I then moved on to the University of South Carolina and earned a Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
This is my twenty-third year in the school library, and I love the way my job combines working with students and with teachers! In 2006, I earned my National Board Certification (it was renewed in 2016), and I earned another Master's degree in Educational Technology from USC in 2010. In 2021, I was selected as Rucker's Teacher of the year, and in 2011, I was named South Carolina's Media Specialist of the Year for our state. That summer, I attended a week-long Teacher Institute at the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
