Welcome letter

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Hello, and welcome to a new school year here at South Middle School. I am David Bryant, and I will be teaching your child Ancient Civilizations all the way to present day. I am looking forward to a wonderful year, and hope your child will enjoy the exciting plans and lessons I have in store for them. These lessons will include lectures, debates, hands-on activities, group work, individual work, games, and student-centered learning. Homework will be assigned on occasion, but will generally be reading, finishing up classwork, or short work designed to re-enforce the lesson taught that day. I can be reached at david.bryant@lcsd.k12.sc.us or by phone at the school, 803-283-8416. My planning time is from 1:45 until 3:15. This is the best time to reach me by phone or in-person (in-person must be approved by administration). Any students who needs additional help or explanations of work and/or homework should drop by for further instruction. I am usually in the school by 7:30 every morning, so students may come by for help if needed. The rule for morning visits is that students must have a pass written by the teacher to enter the building early. Students need to get this pass the day before coming to the school early. Student who have a pass must be dropped off in the car rider loop. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you and I am truly looking forward to having your child in my class.

Sincerely,

David Bryant
