do teachers get paid enough?

Teachers do so much work for us everyday and give us the education we will need throughout our lives.
Although they do so much for everyone they still get paid a low amount of income that is barely enough to survive on. Teachers do not get paid enough for all the work they do.
Most teachers go to college for four or more years with additional education and training throughout their career. Teachers are underpaid when compared to other professions with the same amount of education and experience.
Considering the fate of whether a child gets the education they need is in the teacher's hands. Teachers allow students to expand their knowledge and without them they wouldn’t be able to.
As we are in a teacher shortage currently, upping the pay for teachers could possibly bring interest back into the career for young students. It could possibly make current teachers work harder with what they do everyday too.
Although teachers do get summers, holidays, and breaks off and still get paid, this does not mean that the pay is enough to survive on the income alone. Most teachers get paid once a month and this causes them to have to budget for an entire month to make sure they have enough money for necessities. Teachers also may have to stay later and work at home, but whether they do this or not they still receive the same amount of income.
In the US, education is underfunded which causes this issue. There should be a main focus made onto the education system because this is what makes our society who we are. The government should put the education system as one of the main focuses and make it one of the main expenses.
Teachers deserve more gratitude and a higher income for what their job descriptions include everyday.
