At this meeting we made alka-seltzer rockets and launched them outside! Our members learned about chemical reactions and Newton's Laws of motion.
At this meeting we made truss bridges made out of popsicle sticks and tested their strength using coin weights! Our members improved their abilities of working as a team and learned about the various types of bridges.
This meeting we focused on electrical engineering and built a working telegraph, radio and spinning motor. Our members had a festive time experimenting with the Science Wiz's Invention Kit. Bonus: working fan made by the presidents!
This mini-meeting was to celebrate the end of the first year of STEM club! We celebrated the occasion with snacks and music before winter break. Our members' math and engineering skills were tested in a catapult competition!
This meeting's focus was robotics! Our members raced each other in building robots using a kit from the engineering classroom.
The focus of this meeting was chemical engineering. The members got to DIY their own oil and water lava lamps! They also got to see how the bubbling reaction when alka-seltzer was added in the mix.
This meeting was a ride! Our members learned about mechanical engineering through roller coaster engineers. They practiced engineering design by creating their own paper roller coasters and testing them with weighted marbles.
