This club began with the intention to educate students in the field of STEM in create and innovate ways. Writing for STEM allows for people to expand their understanding of research and gain valuable experience that will be beneficial throughout high school and beyond. All of the officers are very passionate about STEM and are excited to see this club grow in the upcoming school year!
We began this club in our sophomore year, hosting biweekly meetings with a more hands-on approach that taught research techniques, ways to begin an introduction, and a standard three-body-paragraph structure. This framework was quickly discarded, as we realized high schoolers don't have to be taught how to write essays.
We shifted to monthly meetings that both reinforced our principles of self-guided writing and saved us from frequently having to wake up early. As stated on the front page, this is meant to be an "open and fun environment", meaning we won't bore you with writing lectures and won't try to cram a template down your throat.
