RVHS PHYSICS BOWL  2026-27 Season

What is Physics Bowl?
Short description: An annual physics competition hosted by the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), where high school students worldwide compete in a timed multiple-choice exam.

Competition Format:
40 multiple-choice questions
45 minutes
Covers high school physics topics (mechanics, electricity & magnetism, waves, optics, thermodynamics, modern physics, etc.)

Divided into two divisions:
Division I: First-year physics students (RVHS Conceptual Physics, Honors Physics, Online VL Physics, Or just no Physics)
Division II: Second-year or AP/IB-level student (RVHS AP Physics)

Who Runs It?
Organized by the AAPT (American Association of Physics Teachers).

Where?

Meetings are 1504 in Mrs. Hannah's Room

(This is run by Science Olympiad but its own club and credit!)

Mechanics (motion, forces, energy, momentum)
Electricity & Magnetism
Waves & Optics
Thermodynamics
Modern Physics (quantum, relativity, nuclear)
Units, Vectors, and Basic Math Applications
