Contact community mentor to maintain open lines of communication between Loudoun Valley High School and the business/organization hosting the student.
Work with the Capstone team to troubleshoot their mentee's Capstone application or Capstone eligibility as needed.
Mentor and guide students to have both a successful and productive Capstone experience.

Guide students in helping them find a community mentor and a corresponding project.
Read and evaluate student's Capstone proposal.
Sign off on student's Capstone schedule, ensuring teacher return requests are honored.
Keep students accountable by managing student organized check-ins one to two times a week throughout the duration of Capstone and at least twice prior to Capstone. This includes communicating directly with the student's community mentor to verify that the student is honoring their commitment.
Verify that a student is academically eligible to participate in Capstone. This includes establishing a plan of action to determine how and when a student will return to class if they have an I, F, or D on their grade report. A mentor's advocacy will play a large role in determining if a student who has an I, F, or D in any class should be eligible to participate in Capstone.
Assist in the Community Expo
Ensure students create a professional and reflective presentation for the Virtual Capstone Reflection and help prepare the student to converse with community members and parents about their experience.
Communicate regularly via email with the Capstone team if there are any concerns regarding a student's progress.
