We will continue to build on the short vowels from module 1. We will also be exploring the "floss rule", learning the rule for when to use a -ck, and learning soem word families with the double ll ending that cannot be sounded out.
Students will listen to storeis where we will learn new vocabulary and focus on various comprehnesion strategies. We will learn about Story Structure, Author's Purpose and Asking/Answering Quesitions.
Students will work on narrative stories. They will be working on understanding first how to tell a story orally before getting it down on paper.
Counting Part 1
This unit is all about counting. During this unit students will be asked to count by 1s, 5s and 10s to 100. We also ask that students can read and write their numbers through 30. This unit will also have students comparing numbers adnd begining to represent numbers with a base 10 modlel.
Science
Students will be leanring about the sun. They will lean how the sun is a source of energy that provides light and warmth for Earth. We will explore the position of the sun throughout the day as well as explore day vs. night.
