The LCPS G Suite for Education domain is not a public forum like the general Google environment that the public uses. It is a “walled garden” that is much more secure and private. Our student’s names and student ID numbers are considered public directory information and are used throughout our systems to help facilitate the identification of students. However, their private protected information is not “on the web” – that information is kept secure and private. More information on Google’s Education privacy can be found here. LCPS is also a recipient of the Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal which is summarized here. At present we are the only district in Virginia with this distinction.
