Mrs. Holland
Mrs. Poteat (School Social Worker):
This is Mrs. Poteat’s sixteenth year as a School Social Worker with LCPS and her ninth year here at JML. Previously, she also served Hutchison Farm Elementary School, Little River Elementary School, and Buffalo Trail Elementary School. Prior to JML opening, Mrs. Poteat worked in the Potomac Falls Cluster at River Bend Middle School, Potowmack Elementary School, and Horizon Elementary School. Mrs. Poteat is excited to be here full-time as part of the Unified Mental Health Team.
Mrs. Poteat received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Minor in Sociology from Virginia Tech University and her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. Poteat is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Lead School Social Worker at LCPS. When not at work, you can often find Mrs. Poteat at the baseball fields watching her three sons play and her husband coach.
This year, Mrs. Poteat looks forward to continuing to serve the students, staff, and families at JML. Mrs. Poteat is part of the Child Study Team, PBIS Team, Unified Mental Health Team, and an adult advisor for Sources of Strength. An important part of Mrs. Poteat’s job is to ensure that students and families have the supports they need inside and outside of school be that through consultation, individual counseling, group, or referrals to outside resources. Mrs. Holland (School Psychologist):
Mrs. Holland is excited to be back at JML this year as the school psychologist! This is Mrs. Holland’s fourth year at JML and sixth year with LCPS. Previously, she also served Buffalo Trail Elementary School, Pinebrook Elementary School, Arcola Elementary School, and Willard Intermediate School. This year, Mrs. Holland will be at JML full-time as part of the Unified Mental Health Team.
Mrs. Holland received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Minor in Social Work, Master of Arts in Psychology, and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology from George Mason University. Additionally, Mrs. Holland is recognized as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist by the National Association for School Psychologists. Mrs. Holland grew up in northern New Jersey, moved to Virginia to attend GMU, and loved the area so much she decided to stay! Mrs. Holland spends her free time with her husband, their two wonderful children, and their rescue dog traveling often to see family in NJ and England.
This year, Mrs. Holland looks forward to focusing solely on the needs of the students, staff, and parents at JML. Mrs. Holland is part of the Child Study Team, PBIS Team, Unified Mental Health Team, a mentor for Sources of Strength, and is available to consult with teachers and parents regarding their student’s needs for them to be successful at JML this year.
