If the student does not have a completed questionnaire upon arrival at school, staff will ask the student the same questions, as developmentally appropriate, during their advisory or first block. If a student answers “yes” to any of the questions, the student will be escorted to the designated Care Room.
A laminated copy of the Symptom Check Questionnaire is posted outside of the building next to the security camera portal. Visitors requesting access to the school will be asked to verify if they have answered “yes” to any of the screening questions. Visitors are not allowed to enter the building if they answer “yes” to any of the questions.
Student temperatures will be checked daily using thermal cameras. LCPS has installed thermal cameras in the main entrance to the school. These cameras are set to identify individuals with a temperature exceeding 100.4 degrees. A student with a temperature of a 100.4 degrees or higher will be escorted to the Care Room for further assessment. School staff will notify parents if their child has an elevated temperature and needs to picked up from school.
