The Farmwell Library Book Club meets once a month during lunch. Students attend during whichever lunch shift they have.
At our last meeting, each qualified voter had one vote for their favorite book. A tally sheet was prepared and submitted by the librarians to the Virginia State Literacy Association (formerly the Virginia State Reading Association) - sponsors of the award. For more information about the program go to: https://vslatoday.org/VRC
In the past, our book club has read some of the nominated titles for the Virginia Reader's Choice Award, but for the 2024-2025 school year, our book club will be transitioning from reading Virginia Readers' Choice selections to Project Lit selections. An announcement will made over the morning announcements when sign-ups are open for the 2024-2025 school year. We can accept more than 30 students into the book club, but we can only provide copies of the books to the first 30 students who sign up. Students who sign up after the first 30 may be responsible for providing their own copies of the books. Students can stop by the library to pick up a sign up permission form .
The librarians communicate with student members of the book club through the Library Book Club Schoology Group and school Gmail accounts.
