We are creating a space where you can debate in your native language, although open to anyone who would like to state their opinion in Spanish.  If enough interest, we are reaching out to the Washington Urban Debate League to provide us with the opportunity to debate at the Spanish Language Policy debate competition on the national circuit, Harvard University's Debate en Español.

The topics in this competition are closely related to Hispanic issues, events and policies.  Last year's topic was "abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements".

Debate in your native language, represent the league, but most importantly represent your Hispanic community; additionally be a role model for those students who don't trust yet their English skills to participate in a debate, and show them that there is a space where they can develop that intellectual confidence comfortably.

Please email Ms. Ramirez if you are interested in using Spanish as your language to debate.
