Video Conferencing with Google Meet
Connection Tips:
Use the best internet available. Wired tends to work best, followed by wireless and then cellular.
Mute your microphone when possible.
Turn off your webcam/video feed when possible (and as applicable, check the settings to make sure the video is not in HD format). Teachers will likely require you to have your video on to begin with but most will not require it stay on after the lesson begins.
Close any unneeded applications and websites (close all unnecessary tabs) while in a virtual meeting.
Minimize bandwidth-intensive activities (downloading, streaming, cloud backups, etc.) on other devices sharing the same Internet connection.
Is a document too small to read? Try clicking directly on it to open it full screen. If that does not work, hover your cursor on it until you see a box/arrow icon and then click on that to open the item full screen in a new tab. For YouTube videos, once you hit play, you can click on the square icon (4 brackets in a square shape) in the bottom right corner of the video player to make it play full screen (the Esc key or the then updated icon in the bottom right corner will get you out of full screen).
