Intro to Art I (7TH GRADE)
Students learn and review the Elements of Art. Students will explore a variety of artists, art techniques and materials such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and collage. Art criticism, aesthetics, and art history are an integral part of the class. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork around school as well as at the annual district art show at the end of the year.
Intro to Art II (8th GRADE)
Half Year course- Students are introduced to the Principles of Design: focusing on techniques that will help them create more visually effective artworks. Students will explore a variety of artists, art techniques, and materials such as drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and sculpture. Art criticism, aesthetics, and art history are an integral part of the class. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork around school as well as at the annual district art show at the end of the year.
Art Studio (7TH & 8TH GRADE)
This course is for students that want to explore the arts further. Students will gain a deeper understanding of art techniques and materials such as drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture, proportions, mixed media, digital art, and three-dimensional design. Students will have the opportunity to submit artwork for state and national contests as well as display their art at the annual district art show at the end of the year.
