Art studio is an amazing opportunity for students at RMT. Students learn advanced art-making techniques to take their art to the next level. Students will gain a deeper understanding of art mediums and materials such as drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture, proportions, mixed media, digital art, and three dimensional design. Students will have the opportunity to submit artwork for state and national contests as well as display their art at the annual district's art show at the end of the year.
Students finished up their masks last month. Students learned the art of papier-mache; each student received a paper mask and were tasked with developing a plan for their design. Students learned how to build off the mask to create forms using masking tape, paper, newspaper, and foil. The masks turned out amazing! Some you might've seen because they wore them for Halloween!
Our Current Project: Metamorphosis
Advanced Art Studio students have been working on a new project called Metamorphosis. They are taking two items (object, animal, facial feature, THING, etc) and having them morph into one another. Students need to figure out a way to creatively tie the two items together. Here are some students that are already finished!
