The Purpose: The purpose of this technique is to provide support to the metacarpophalangeal joint.Â
The Materials:
Pre-wrap
1/2 inch white athletic tape
The Positioning: The Athlete should be standing in front of you with their hand pronated.
The Application:
Pre wrap the and the thumb.
Apply a figure 8 to the 1st MTP joint to limit abduction.
Repeat the figure 8 2x (overlap each other).
Finish with an anchor around the wrist.
