Shoulder Spica
The Purpose: The purpose of this technique is to limit the abduction and external rotation of the shoulder.
The Materials:
3-4 inch compression wrap
2 inch powerflex
The Positioning: The Athlete should be standing in front of you with their affected sides hand on their hip.
The Application:
Using a double 4” wrap, begging at the middle bicep, and work toward the shoulder.
When the height of the wrap is at the height of the shoulder, go around the body and under the opposite arm.
Continue around the arm, around the body until the wrap ends.
End the wrap around the arm.
Secure the wrap with 2 inch powerflex.
