3D-Design Class: Taking 3D design has really changed how I see creativity. It’s not just about making something look cool, it’s about building ideas that could actually exist. I’ve learned how to use digital tools to turn sketches into real 3D models, which takes both creativity and problem-solving. It’s taught me patience too, because small details make a big difference. What I like most is how it combines art and technology. You get to be imaginative, but also think like an engineer. In other words, 3D design has helped me see the world in a new way and given me skills I can use in future projects or careers.
This was our first 3D- Design assignment of the year. We were to make a nametag and print it out!
This was one of our classes tinkcad assignments We were to draw something, and then print it out. I created this keychain. This assignment was very easy, but also fun.
This another assignment. We were to create chess pieces. This one was a bit more difficult. An important thing I recall from this design is the importance of aligning and the duplicating tool.
This assinment was very cute and simple. It was called "Print a Thing". So we basically just found something we liked on Thingaverse, and printed it just to get a feel for the printers and design platform.
This was our digital clay molding assignment. We were supposed to make monster or creatures by using an online platform. This was really fun in my opinion. There were a lot of fun tools and ways to mold.
This was our most recent assignment! We still have yet to do our final competition, but this a pumpkin launcher. It was very fun to make and took a lot of thinking and creativity.
This was our class's final independent project. I chose to create a headphone holder that perfectly fits on the corner of our mac computers. I truly like this design I've prototyped and printed, and so did my user. My user was my teacher, Mr. Stoltzfus, and he was very happy with my design and said " It fits perfectly and works great! I love it.”
