The pupils enjoyed working as a team navigating their way around the orienteering course, reading their maps and finding clues in order to crack the code. Team work, brain work, leg work and of course plenty of fun was had in this superb activity!!
We held our School Sports Day! From sack races, to egg & spoon races, to three-legged races, sprints and the poc fada, our sports day was full of thrills and spills and plenty of excitement! Most importantly, every child thoroughly enjoyed the day!
Our senior classroom pupils enjoyed a Swashbuckling School Tour at Lough Gur!
Firstly our pupils enjoyed kayaking and swimming on the renowned Lough Gur. We would like to thank our instructors Aideen, John, Chris and Matt from Kilfinane Outdoor Education and Training Centre who made it a safe but an extremely enjoyable and memorable experience for each and every pupil.
After lunch, we met Brian from the Lough Gur Heritage Centre who facilitated some pond dipping with the pupils. Then we made the short journey to the other side of the lake to the Grange Stone Circle where we were again joined by Brian who provided us with some historical insights and enjoyable folklore stories. Thanks to Brian for entertaining the pupils for the 2nd half of this tour.
Thanks to our Múinteoirí Mary, Anna, Billy & Emma who made sure the school tour ran as smoothly as it did. A great day was had by all!
The junior room students were bathed in glorious sunshine for their trip to Tipp, with sun cream and hats in high demand from early in the morning!
We were very fortunate to be able to call upon the extensive knowledge and experience of our tour guide Patsy across the entire day, who turned a brilliant day out into something truly memorable for all involved!
From alpacas to emus, and everything in between, the farm tour thoroughly captured the interest of all our budding young farmers and zoologists
As the day progressed, the children were able to experience all that Parson’s Green had to offer from every angle, zooming through “croc infested” waters by boat and taking a leisurely spin down the lane by pony and trap!
Finally, we wrapped up the day with a hearty lunch for our weary explorers! Some even had the energy to enjoy the brilliant outdoor play areas!
Safe to say it was a very quiet bus journey home! Go raibh míle maith ag na Múinteoirí Catherine, Louise agus Cathal. D’éirigh go hiontach leis!
We had a wonderful day celebrating our grandparents and elderly community members in glorious sunshine. Our pupils were thrilled to perform songs and poems in their honour, showing their appreciation for the special role they play in our lives and community.
It was a heartwarming occasion, filled with smiles, connection, and pride as our visitors explored our school and admired the fantastic displays created for them.
A wonderful video showcasing the tremendous work carried out by the Glenroe Ballyorgan Community Council and the history of Glenroe School being reopened.
