As we are using a block schedule, late work will be accepted by the next block day for a beginning grade of 75. Every day after this that the assignment is not received WILL result in an infraction for EACH day that it is late. For example, a paper turned in by the due date results in the maximum points allowed. A paper turned in one day after the due date will result in the maximum allowed points of a 75 (before the grading has even begun). A paper turned in two days after the due date will result in the maximum allowed points of a 50 (before the grading has even begun) as well as the student receiving an infraction. Assignments that are turned in after the second day will receive an immediate infraction and result in the student receiving a grade of zero. It is the responsibility of each student to turn their assignment in on time. Every student deserves to have the highest grade possible for the work they put into an assignment. I believe in being fair, but I also believe in the student taking ownership over their coursework. This teaches not only responsibility, but will prepare you for upcoming classes, college, and real life skills (your boss will not let you continue to turn in work that is unacceptable, or late, without eventually leading to the loss of your job, a promotion, or future endeavor.) Please always use your time effectively and wisely and I will ALWAYS respect that you tried and you truly put effort in your work.
If you have an extenuating circumstance such as a power outage, computer crash, a fire, a death of a loved one, etc, or you know in advance that you cannot complete the assignment on time for a valid reason, please have a parent or guardian contact me via email and we will arrange an assignment extension, at which time I will give you a signed extension slip. Do not lose this slip! Please staple the assignment extension slip to your paper when you turn it in.
Please note that there are NO EXCEPTIONS or extensions to assignments that have future dates on them as the student has had plenty of time to complete the assignment and known well in advance the due date of that assignment.
Scripture is the ultimate authority on how we ought to behave in all situations.
Prefer others over yourself.
Resources are always finite. Be responsible in what you use and how you use it.
Do your best. Every time, no matter what.
