Attendance
All School
Elementary attendance is recorded once per day in the morning. Grades 5-12 attendance is recorded per class period.
Any student who arrives after 8:00 am will be given a tardy.
Any student missing school without parental permission will be considered truant and subject to disciplinary action.
If the student has received attention from a medical professional, a doctor’s note is requested when the student returns to school.
In the interests of student safety, parents should notify the school by 9:00 the morning the student is absent via e-mail
elementary to elemattendance@lccs.org
grades 5-12 to attendance@lccs.org
An absence due to participation in school-related activities is considered a school-related absence and is not counted in the total number of absences allowed.
Excessive absences or tardies could impact tuition assistance awards in subsequent years.
Grades 5-12
A student who misses more than 20 minutes of a block class or 10 minutes of a 45 minute class is considered absent.
Any student who is tardy to 3 class periods will receive a detention and an absence.
Students who miss more than nine periods in a 45 minute course or five periods in a block course in either semester will not receive credit for the course unless it is restored by administration or Buy-Back school is attended.
In compliance with ACSI requirements, once the student reaches 9 absences, the administration will review cases to determine whether Buy-Back school or further consequence are necessary. Only serious conditions, such as extended illnesses, that are well documented by a medical professional will merit consideration.
Excessive absences or tardies could impact tuition assistance awards in subsequent years.
In order to participate in after school athletic events and/or extra-curricular activities, students must be in attendance for the equivalent of 4 - 45minute class periods on the day of the event.
