Classroom Expectations
Timely and orderly entrance to class is expected, as well as consistent attendance.
Students will respect themselves, classmates, teachers, as well as any other adults in the classroom and building.
Students will come to class prepared every day with their focus on learning.
Students will remain in their seats until permission is given to get up and move around.
Students will give their best effort on all assignments, including in class assignments, homework, and I-Ready/Benchmark Testing.
Students will use appropriate language in the classroom, keeping outside conversation to a minimum.
Students will seek assistance and communicate when they do not understand something.
Students must adhere to the LCMS Student Handbook rules.
Students will follow specific classroom rules as reviewed during the first few weeks of school.
*Homework: Homework is expected to be completed as assigned.
*Assignments: All assignments should be turned in on the due date. Late work will result in points being deducted based on the number of days late. (5 points per day.)
*Make-up work for missing assignments: It is the responsibility of the student to make up any missed assignments. There is a designated place in the classroom where students may go to read what we did when they were out & to pick up any worksheets missed. Students have 3 days to retrieve this work. I will give the student an appropriate deadline for turning the work back in. If the work is not received by the deadline, the late work policy will go into effect.
*Academic Honesty: Receiving or giving information for an assignment is cheating, and the student will not receive credit nor receive the opportunity for a chance to make-up.
*Parent Involvement: The connection between home and school is essential! You will be a big part of your child’s success in 6th grade. Be supportive and guide your child in any assignments. Ask questions and listen to your child. If you need any resources, please visit our class webpage. For those of you without access to the internet, refer back to your child’s notes or handouts in his/her binder.
