Ms. Kimberly Holland

Expanded Learning Supervisor

Kimberly Holland (Ms. Kim) has been with LBUSD for over 20 years. Over the years she has worked within high school, middle school, elementary and SPED. Ms Kim earned her B.S. at CSULB in Vocational Education. Her favorite children's books are Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson and Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel by Virginia Lee Burton. Ms. Kim enjoys spending time with her family, reading, crocheting and listening to music.

Mrs. Allison Thompson

Expanded Learning Supervisor

Mrs. Thompson has been with LBUSD's Kids' Club Program for 22 years, the last 15 at Prisk. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from California State University, Long Beach. Mrs. Thompson's favorite children's books are Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and Roald Dahl's The BFG. In her spare time, Mrs. Thompson enjoys reading, taking walks, listening to podcasts and gardening. She lives with her husband Steve, three kids, two black cats, and her puppy Teddy!

Ms. Maria Avalos

Instructional Aide - Expanded Learning

Ms. Avalos has been with our program for almost 3 years. She began as a Recreation Aide and now is an Instructional Aide working with our TK/K's. She also works at Long Beach Memorial Hospital in the Emergency Room. In her off time, Ms. Avalos enjoys spending time with her son going to amusement parks and Dodger games.

Ms. Amiah Brooks

Instructional Aide - Expanded Learning

Ms. Brooks has been with us since 2019. She switches between working in construction or with animals during the school day. Her favorite color is pink. She goes camping with her friends and family often. She loves math and space. She got to go see the Solar eclipse in 2024 in Dallas, Texas.

Ms. Sabrina Smith

Instructional Aide - Expanded Learning

Ms. Smith has been a part of our program since 2022. She is also a behavioral therapist who works 1:1 with kids during the school day. Ms. Smith earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cal State-Long Beach. She really enjoys playing with dogs and kids, especially her nephew! Ms. Smith's favorite children's board game is Chutes & Ladders and she loves watching and playing soccer. When she's not with us, Ms. Smith enjoys listening to comedy and 80's music and spending time with friends!
