Focuses on the development of simple/basic high frequency kitchen skills
Focuses on the use of simple hand tools
Uses simple recipes that help develop these skills and independence with these skills
At the end of Level 1, the students will have developed a repertoire of independence in single skills and competency in independently preparing a variety of recipes
Most students will be able to cook these recipes independently
Includes the use of a variety of electrical kitchen tools with increased safety concerns
Includes some recipes that use more than 1 skill
Consolidates skills learned in Level 1 and 2
Uses a stove and oven
Integrates multiple skills and multiple ingredients in the recipes
Increases the number and complexity of steps to complete the recipes
Increases the number of tools
Increases the problem solving demands
Few students will be able to cook all these recipes independently
