Lawrence Berkeley Lab
Retiree Honor Roll

The Lab would like to thank retirees for their years of dedication and service. Your contributions were crucial to making the Lab a world-class institution. We wish you the best in this new chapter of your lives.

Here are some of the 2023 Lab retirees

Cynthia Sylvester

OCFO | 23 Years

I was blessed with positions I loved at LBNL. The eSRA Project beginning in 2009, has been fulfilling, and I thoroughly enjoyed creating the Desk Guides and eLearning modules. During retirement, I plan to write a long-delayed book. My husband and I are planning to travel and cook at home using all fresh ingredients. Some home remodeling and landscaping are also on the list.

Stacy Guidi

HR | 24 Years

Immediate plans are travel (we leave for Fiji on July 1st!) After we return, I'm looking forward to spending time with family and friends, having the time to revive interests that have been put on hold, and trying new things. I appreciate the opportunities the Lab has given me, and being a part of the amazing and hard-working HR and Benefits team!

Laura Chen

Operations Directorate | 39 Years

The luckiest day of my life was the day I came to LBNL almost 40 years ago. Thank you, LBNL! I can't wait to reinvent myself and provide a fun service that connects people - like baking desserts, becoming a tour guide, remodeling homes, or doing it all.

Ashok Gadgil

Energy Technologies Area | 37.4 Years

I am pleased and consider myself very lucky to have spent many decades of my productive life at LBNL. I plan to continue to stay engaged with LBNL and with UC Berkeley in the coming years. It has been an exciting and fulfilling journey.

Mark Regis

Engineering | 23 Years

I am proud to have worked at Berkeley Lab. It has been very rewarding. I have worked with many talented people. I will spend time traveling both inside and outside the US. I will also spend more time on my hobby of amateur radio and antique radio restoration.

Paul Mathew

BTUS | 20 Years

It has been incredibly rewarding to work at Berkeley Lab. The. Best. Career. Ever. I am enormously grateful. I am taking a break for several months and then plan to look for a new opportunity to advance building decarbonization - likely in the private sector.

Richard Stanton

PIMD | 32 Years

I am proud of the many projects I have completed at LBNL and their contribution to the meaningful research performed here. It has been a privilege to work with such talented team members and clients. I plan to project manage some overdue remodeling projects at my house and travel often.
