Computers for the hands-on sessions:
All students should bring a personal or work laptop in order to install software and work on data files during the hands-on sessions. Course TAs will be available to assist in installing software (all free to download) for the hands-on portions of the course.
You can download the software ahead of time if you are interested. Please see the download links and installation instructions below
Bring your own laptop (Windows 7 or newer or Mac OSX preferred). Contact us if you have any questions about operating system.
Please contact percius@lbl.gov as soon as possible if you can't bring a laptop.
Please bring a 3-button mouse. This is important for the software applications used in this course. Laptop trackpads are insufficient in almost all cases.
The software packages are available at the following links. Instructions for installation are also provided or linked to.
NOTE: This list is not yet complete and instructions are being finalized. Version number will also be added/updated.
