Beamline Designs

During the school, we will focus on two canonical beamline designs, one for soft x-ray based on grating monochromator, and one for hard x-ray, based on a crystal monochromator.

Soft x-ray beamline: ALS-U 10.0.1.2 "FLEXON 2"

Beamline description

The FLEXON 2 beamline is a new ALS-U beamline (10.0.1.2) dedicated to soft x-ray coherent imaging over the 230–1400 eV photon energy range.

Hard x-ray beamline: APS-U ISN

The APS-U  In-Situ Nanoprobe is a new APS beamline (19-ID) dedicated to coherent imaging.
