Entrepreneurship Resources

The Intellectual Property Office offers a range of entrepreneurship programs to support scientist-entrepreneurs, in order to:

• Increase the number of national-laboratory-developed technologies that are transferred into commercial development or industry agreements.

• Train national laboratory researchers to better understand the commercialization process and private sector needs.

• Transform national laboratory culture to value commercialization and entrepreneurial activities.

Note: With approval from their Area/Division and the Research Compliance Office's Conflict of Interest team, Berkeley Lab researchers have the option of starting a company while keeping their research job.
