Entrepreneurship Training
Hosted by the Intellectual Property Office and the Career Pathways Office, this program is designed for scientist-entrepreneurs eager to bridge the gap between academic research and the business world. Dive deep into the essentials of tech-driven entrepreneurship over an intensive 2- month program.
Course Details for Winter/Spring 2025 Cohort:
📆 Program Duration: January 15 - March 26
🕦 Schedule: Every Wednesday, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
📍 Location: Building 90-1144. Attendance will be in person at Building 90 if your primary work location is on the main site. If you are located at one of the satellite facilities (JBEI, Potter Street, etc.) hybrid participation will be considered.

Tech Assessment for Patentability and Commercialization: Understand how to evaluate the potential of your technology and prepare it for the market.
Customer Discovery: Learn how to identify and understand your target market, a critical step in building a successful product.
Licensing Technology: Navigate the complexities of licensing and how to effectively leverage your technology.
Incorporating a Startup: Guidance on the legal and practical aspects of forming your own company.
Raising Funds: Explore various funding avenues and learn how to attract investors to your venture.
Negotiation Skills: Develop the art of negotiation, an essential skill for any entrepreneur in discussions with partners, investors, and customers.
