2020/2021 COHORT
Shaswat Babhulgaonkar is a current intern with LBNL mentor Mengsu Hu and CSUEB faculty advisor Zahra Derakhshandeh (Computer Science), working on the project entitled, "Machine Learning Prediction of Fracture Growth as a Result of Hydro-Mechanical Coupling in Geological Media."
Agnes Gniazdowska is a current intern with LBNL mentor Craig Ulrich and CSUEB faculty advisor Mitchell Craig (Earth & Environmental Science), working on the project entitled, "Multimethod Geophysical Surveying of Levees in the Sacramento Delta."
Aarohi Shah is a current intern with LBNL mentor Will Stringfellow and CSUEB faculty advisor Ruth Tinnacher (Chemistry & Biochemistry), working on the project entitled, "Investigation of Treatment Options for the Removal of Boron from Produced Water."
2019/2020 COHORT
Brenda Delgadillo Moreno worked with her LBNL mentor Michelle Newcomer and CSUEB faculty advisor Jean Moran (Earth & Environmental Sciences)on the project entitled "Low Impact Development and Best Management Practices Effects on Groundwater-Surface Water Interaction and Recharge in the East Bay." Brenda completed her CSUEB internship in June 2020.
Thomas Fenster worked with his LBNL mentor Housen Chu and CSUEB faculty advisor Patty Oikawa (Earth & Environmental Sciences) on the project entitled "The effects of compost application on grazed grasslands’ greenhouse gas budget, water budget, net primary productivity, and microbial communities." Thomas completed his CSUEB internship in June 2020.
2018/2019 COHORT
Jennifer Bahramian worked with her LBNL mentors Sebastien Biraud and Housen Chu and CSUEB faculty advisor Patty Oikawa (Earth & Environmental Sciences) on the project entitled "Tidal effects on ecosystem exchange of carbon dioxide and methane in restored tidal marshes of San Francisco Bay." Jennie completed her CSUEB internship in June 2019, continued on at LBNL as a BLUR summer intern through summer 2019, and finally, as an affiliate with the Ameriflux Tech Team through the end of December 2019. Jennie is wrapping up her Masters thesis at CSUEB and will be applying to graduate schools.
Nydra Harvey-Costello worked with her mentors Peter Nico and Patricia Fox and CSUEB faculty advisor Michael Massey (Earth & Environmental Sciences) on the project entitled "Gas Flux and Respiration Measurements in the Hillslope Vadose Zone of the East River Site, Colorado." Nydra completed her CSUEB internship in June 2019 and continued on at LBNL as a BLUR summer intern. Nydra presented a poster at the Goldschmidt Conference in Barcelona in August 2019. She returned to CSUEB to continue her Masters program.
Anna Hill worked with her mentors Will Stringfellow and Ji Yeon Lee and CSUEB faculty advisory Ruth Tinnacher (Chemistry & Biochemistry) on the project entitled "Identification and Analysis of Hydraulic Fracturing Chemicals." Anna completed her CSUEB internship in June 2019 and continued on at LBNL as a BLUR summer intern through August 2019.
