This format is meant to be a conversation which sparks ideas we can develop in the years to come. We will begin with short, 10 minute talks from principal investigators from divisions outside the ALS, who will describe their research and how they hope the ALS can assist. We will follow this with a response from the ALS Chemical Transformation Science Thrust Area on how ALS techniques can support these research ideas.
What is a slam? In this context, we will have participants submit ONE slide and speak for maximum 90 seconds, where they will present a compelling presentation of their research and, if possible, the need of ALS current or future techniques, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. This will not be judged, but it will be fun and may lead to direct collaborations. The content should be specific to chemical transformations, especially electrochemical materials. Those who sign up in time will be required to submit their 1 slide by Monday August 3rd at noon to altaylor@lbl.gov.
Make sure you register if you want to participate in the slam; we will only have 10 minutes for this, so first-come, first-served!
