Enduring Issues:

The stories of our world are connected by many issues that are timeless and universal. In High School students will be required to write "Enduring Issues" essays to show mastery of this understanding and earn a Regent's Diploma.  

1. Conflict: What causes conflict? What effect does this have?

2. Cooperation: Why do we cooperate with each other? What effects can cooperation have?

3. Power: How is power gained, consolidated, maintained, and lost?

4. Inequality: Why is there inequality? What effect does this have?

5. Scarcity: In a world of limited resources, how do people get what they need and want? What are the effects of their actions?

6. Innovation: Do the benefits of innovation outweigh the costs?

7. Interconnectedness:  Do the benefits of interconnectedness outweigh the costs?

8. Security: How do threats to privacy, property or self influence our ideas and actions?

9. Environmental Impact: How does our environment affect humans? How do humans affect the environment?
