During the 2020-2021 school year, the Long Beach SEL committee reviewed several programs and decided on the Jesse Lewis Choose Love program to be implemented district-wide.
During the 2020-2021 school year, the Long Beach SEL committee reviewed several programs and decided on the Jesse Lewis Choose Love program to be implemented district-wide.
The program was designed by the mother of Jesse Lewis, a 6-year-old who was killed in Sandy Hook.

The program is data-based (rooted in the CASEL standards), engaging, and will be implemented by the classroom teachers.

Another support that Long Beach is proud to offer to our elementary students is the Elementary Mindfulness Program.

The Mindfulness program is run by Mrs. Gioulis and during their time together, students learn to develop and practice their mindfulness skills.
