Google Meet allows for teachers to share video, screenshares, and/or audio in a variety of ways:
Record videos/screencasts for students to view at a later time
Hold interactive class discussions (students can participate with camera/microphone or via chat)
Livestream video/screencast (students cannot comment or interact). Teachers can record a livestream so that it is accessible at a later time.
