Grade 8 students have an opportunity to engage in a research course which focuses on developing skills of what it is to be a researcher.
Students will explore scientific processes, research design, collect and analyze authentic data through hands-on STEAM experimentation. Emphasis will be placed on enhancing student writing and technological skills through application of data into graphic visualizations.
Students will sharpen their reading, writing and presentation skills through ted-talk style presentations and ongoing academic discourse with peers.
Student work culminates in the writing of a final research paper in the fall and in the spring. Researchers will also design posters and present their findings at the Long Beach Symposium.
