Language Arts

Sixth grade language arts involves the study of writing, spelling, grammar, and correct English usage. Written communication will include descriptive, informative, fictional, persuasive, autobiographical, and expository writings. These pieces will use the 6 traits of writing; ideas, voice, organization, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions. An emphasis will be placed on self-correction of grammar, usage, and mechanical errors through self, peer, and teacher editing.
