Dear Lawrence Families,
We concluded the 3rd quarter today and what a spectacular end! We saw students engaged in new electives, Kitchen Science made hotpockets, the Entrepreneur and Finance class presented to a panel of “Sharks” their amazing ideas, and our STEM class saw students programing robots with LCD Messages and navigating the classroom fully automated from start to return sequence. We wrapped up the day with a performance from our Choral and Musical Theater classes. With so many more that is just too large a list to enumerate.
Monday brings the start of our 4th quarter and new electives. As we continue through the year, we are also asking our students to take more independence on their HW during IE at the end of the day. If a student feels they need assistance with independent work, their IE teacher is there to help guide them through how to navigate the next steps, be that checking notes, reviewing supplemental material on the class’s daily agenda or emailing the teacher with a clarifying question (and how to do that). We are taking those next steps to prepare our students for next year.
Looking ahead to this coming week:
Dress down days continue, please reference Ms. Lovelaces email details..
Parent-Teacher Conferences are March 18 & 19th. These are mandatory and our students are doing a great job reflecting and preparing to present their accomplishments and goals.
The Great Reading Games ended last Friday and our students did phenomenally. We had several of our middle schoolers on the school leaderboard for most pages read!
Spring Break is March 23-27th
M-Term is March 30th -April 3rd
Have a wonderful weekend.
With Lion Pride,
Douglas Emancipator
Director of Middle School
