Dear Lawrence Families,

Welcome Back!

The Middle School rang in the new year with positivity, growth, and meaningful opportunities to better understand and support one another. On Monday, Lawrence faculty participated in community development through Heart: A Journey Toward Cultural Humility.On Tuesday and Wednesday, a group of middle high school students took part in their own workshops focused on building a foundation for leadership grounded in humility, recognizing their individual strengths, and learning how to support the strengths of others. On the second day, students worked together to create a shared vision of an ideal middle school, along with goals and aspirations for bringing that vision to life. I look forward to the coming weeks as we share these concepts with our broader community and begin implementing ideas that will help our community continue to grow.

In the classroom, we are excited to offer four updated electives: Games and Strategy, Kitchen Science, Finance with Entrepreneurship, and STEM with Robotics and Programming.

Outside the classroom, This past Thursday, our Boys Basketball team earned a win against Hudson Montessori, and our cheerleaders did a fantastic job energizing and rallying our fans. Next week they will be playing a home game on Wednesday the 14th @ 4:30 against Lippman and an away game on Thurs @ 4:30 at Ratner School.

Finally, the Great Reading Games kicked off this past week and will run through February 27. Please encourage your student to log into Learning Ally and pick up a new story.

Thank you for being an important part of our Middle School community. We are excited for the weeks ahead and all the opportunities they will bring.
