The Laveen Community Action Committee will host six food giveaways during the 2022/23 school year. All of the food giveaways will take place at the Laveen Education Center (5001 W. Dobbins Rd. Laveen, AZ 85339) between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. The food giveaways are scheduled on the following dates: 9/10/22, 10/8/22, 11/12/22, 12/10/22, 1/14/22, 2/11/22 and 3/11/22. The LCAC and South Mountain and Laveen Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Summit was held on Saturday between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm at Cesar Chavez Park. 40 partners from leadership, career, education, and community engagement sectors provide resources and opportunities to participate in their organization.
The South Mountain and Laveen Chamber of Commerce, Laveen Community Action Committee, City of Phoenix, Phoenix Block Watch, Laveen School District and Phoenix Police Department are partnering to hold six Coffee with a Cop meetings. All six meetings are open to the public and focus on community safety. Participants will have the opportunity to hear about current community-wide safety initiatives and ask questions. All meetings are held at the Laveen Education Center (5001 W. Dobbins Rd., Laveen, Arizona 85339) from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm on the following dates: 10/25/21, 11/17/21, 12/13/21, 1/19/22, 2/28/22, 3/23/22, and 4/25/22. The First Annual 4th of July Community Celebration last night was a success. Over 600 people attend.
