Community Events:

Food Giveaway: The LCAC in partnership with Urban Farming Education, St. Mary’s Food Bank and the Laveen School District is hosting bimonthly food giveaways. During the months of September, October and November 1,600 food boxes were given away each month. In addition to food, the boxes contain a community resource flyer in Spanish and English.

Virtual Town Hall: The Laveen Community Action Committee will be hosting a Virtual Town Hall meeting on December 9, 2020 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The virtual event will be hosted on YouTube. Participants will be able to learn about upcoming events and community resources from the following organizations: Phoenix Police, Phoenix Fire, Phoenix Block Watch, Urban Farming, Grand Canyon University, Phoenix College, Skill Struck, First Things First, Southwest Behavioral Health, and The Faithful City. The Laveen Community Action Committee will be offering three opportunities for participants to win prizes from presenting partners.
