First Read the Introduction to Scientific Sketching by the California Academy of Sciences.
Complete 4 scientific sketches of something that is in motion.
Make sure to label the following:
Which direction is the movement in?
What is the speed of the object? (if you are unsure of a an exact number you can describe it.)
What caused the movement?

Science is all around us—even in the things we enjoy every day. For this summer assignment, you will choose a topic that interests you and investigate the science behind it.
Your goal is to answer this question: How does science explain something I love?
You will conduct research using at least 3 reliable sources and create a 5-slide presentation to share what you learned. Be ready to present when we get back to school!
Select something you enjoy, use, watch, play, or are curious about.
Examples:
The science of soccer
The science of skateboarding
The science of video games
The science of music
The science of roller coasters
The science of dogs or cats
The science of makeup
The science of fireworks
You may choose another topic as long as it has a clear connection to science.
Step 2: Research Your Topic
Use at least three reliable sources to learn about your topic.

Government websites (.gov)
Museums
Scientific organizations
Science magazines and publications
Books
Wikipedia
ChatGPT or other AI tools as a source
TikTok or Youtube Shorts
Step 3: Create a 5-Slide Presentation
Create your presentation using Google Slides, PowerPoint, or Canva.
Have 1 slide introducing your topic of choice.
Make at least 3 slides explaining how your topic relates to science (one slide for each source; make sure to add the link and title of your source!).
Make 1 conclusion slide with one thing that surprised you and two questions you still have.
