The First Regional BSAP Family Reunion: A Celebration of Unity and Community

As the leaves turn amber and the crispness of fall envelopes Los Angeles, the LAUSD's Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) is gearing up to host a monumental event to foster unity, celebrate achievements, and promote community engagement. We're talking about the first-ever Regional "BSAP Family Reunion" for the 2023-24 school year, and we couldn't be more excited!

A Historical Venue for a Historical Event
Set against the backdrop of the Dolores Huerta Elementary School, located at 260 E. 31st St., Los Angeles, CA 90011, this reunion is more than just a gathering; it's a testament to the spirit of the community. Nestled in the heart of Region East, the school stands as a beacon of hope and a symbol of progress, making it the perfect venue for an event of this magnitude.

When and Where
Mark your calendars for November 28, 2023, and set aside the hours between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. This is not just another date on your calendar; it's an invitation to be a part of history.

Who's Invited?
While we're sending out special invitations to parents and families from the Huerta ES, Maple Primary Center, and Santee HS communities, our doors and hearts are open to all. Whether you're a student, parent, educator, or just someone who believes in the power of community, you're welcome to join.

A Day to Remember
What can attendees expect from the event? For starters, a town hall meeting that promises enriching dialogues and insights. And the cherry on top? The legendary civil rights activist, Dolores Huerta, will grace the event in person, offering attendees a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear from and interact with a figure who has been instrumental in shaping civil rights movements.

But that's not all. In true reunion spirit, there will be an abundance of free food to satiate your taste buds. From local delicacies to international cuisines, there's something for everyone. And while you're savoring the flavors, don't forget to participate in our giveaways. Who knows, you might just walk away with a prize!

Entertainment is at the heart of the reunion. Live performances by local artists promise to keep your feet tapping and hearts soaring. For our younger attendees, we have Jumpers and a host of other fun activities to ensure they have a gala time.

Understanding the needs of our community, we've also arranged for community resources. Bring along your prescription to avail free eye care. Additionally, dental cleanings will be available, ensuring you leave with not just memories but also a sparkling smile.
