Orthopaedic Hospital Medical Magnet High School

Orthopaedic Hospital Medical Magnet High School (Ortho) was founded in 2004 in partnership with Orthopaedic Institute for Children to encourage students in the community to pursue a career pathway in the medical field.

Students at Ortho engage in a rigorous academic program and choose career pathways in biotechnology and public health. Interdisciplinary projects at each grade level are medical themed and focus on exploring the career pathways.

Students begin volunteering at local hospitals or community organizations as early as freshman year, while juniors and seniors also have internship opportunities in science-related areas at local hospitals, city municipal branches, and higher education.

Students can also enroll in college courses at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, tuition-free, as they work towards college and career readiness.
