In order to have a successful SRLA season, we count on our amazing volunteers. We count on your help to ensure our practices run smoothly, our students are taken care of at races, and we have enough drinks and food to keep our runners well-hydrated and their energy levels up.
Every year our Nobel SRLA team has inspired several parents to join our runs and many even run the LA Marathon with their child. Whether you want to join this legacy, or simply provide your support to your child be being their personal cheerleader and assisting with their practice runs, please know that a parent's support is POWERFUL.
Family support is ESSENTIAL to help our students reach their goal in several ways:
All Nobel SRLA families must support their child in meeting his or her weekly practice runs and monthly races. Please check the SRLA calendar on this website for important dates and times. Students must be dropped off and picked up ON TIME for all events and Saturday practices.
We LOVE parent volunteers & running partners!! Please join our Saturday group runs at Lake Balboa. Each of our 5 coaches will supervise a group of runners, but the more adults present, the safer it will be for our students. Parents can join the run, ride a bicycle, or walk a modified course. Parents are also welcome to bring snacks & treats for the runners at all events.
Be a CHEERLEADER for your child! They are doing something that is both physically and emotionally challenging, and will need your enthusiasm and encouragement. Show up for long practice runs and races with signs & noisemakers! Be there when your child crosses the finish line! Let them know how amazing they are! YOU are the most powerful motivator our students can have.
We would appreciate participating families to donate the following:
Sign up to bring snacks and hydration for at least one Saturday practice.
Donate food, materials, or support for the Friendship 30k team picnic.
Donate a food item and cost for pizza at the end of the year Nobel SRLA Family Banquet.
Contribute $15-20 to purchase an SRLA yearbook at the end of the year.
