Library Mission
The Mendez High School Library provides students access to print and digital resources that support their academic and personal goals in a safe and welcoming environment where the love of literacy is nurtured.
We support the Model School Library Standards for California through collaboration with teachers to teach students how to access, evaluate, and use information in all areas of learning.
Library Vision
We strive to ensure that:
Students will be dynamic, critical, and ethical users of technology.
Students will be enthusiastic users of libraries & life‐long readers and learners.
Library Etiquette
Patrons are required to follow all school and district rules. In addition, students need to abide by the following rules for a safe and great learning environment:
Use a quiet voice in the library.
To keep the library clean, no food, GUM, candy, or drinks (bottled water ok) in the library.
Please clean up after yourself, pushing in your chair, and throwing away all scraps of paper.
No cell phones during instructional periods, unless it is being used as part of an assignment.
Remember: Our library is your library. Use it. Love it. Shape it. Respect it.
