Introduction to Forensic Science A is a college preparatory science elective course designed for students interested the detailed investigation practices and applications used in the criminal justice system. This multidisciplinary course integrates concepts from biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth science and includes case study analysis, forensic journal reading, potential career pathways, critical thinking, problem-solving, observation, and data analysis. Foundations of Foods and Nutrition is an introductory culinary arts course, which will cover the basic concepts of nutrition, food preparation, food safety, and related consumer decisions. During the course, students will use reading, writing, science, and mathematics skills related to nutrition and food preparation. Through virtual lecture, virtual laboratory activities and demonstrations, students will learn to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, make informed food choices for themselves, and how to create & serve food attractively. Forensic Science is a 5-credit course which fulfills A-G requirement of the UC/CSU Subject Area Requirements.
