Foundations of Foods and Nutrition is an introductory culinary arts course, which will cover the basic concepts of nutrition, food preparation, food safety, and related consumer decisions. During the course, students will use reading, writing, science, and mathematics skills related to nutrition and food preparation. Through virtual lecture, virtual laboratory activities and demonstrations, students will learn to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, make informed food choices for themselves, and how to create & serve food attractively. Foods is a 5-credit course which fulfills A-G requirement of the UC/CSU Subject Area Requirements.
