MTM offers higher level classes to all students in content areas as well Film Integration, Screenwriting, Broadcast Journalism (with an emphasis on podcasting), and CTE Pathway courses in Animation and Video Production. The magnet teachers incorporate Project-Based Learning (PBL) into magnet courses where students create multimedia presentations, animated stories, or develop and produce a podcast. These projects allow students to apply academic concepts in practical contexts.
Combine elements of language arts, visual arts, and technology to teach storytelling techniques using digital tools such as 2-D animation, graphic design programs, and writing platforms.
Integrated science, technology (AI), and mathematics with media production. For example, students can create educational videos explaining scientific concepts, design websites for STEM projects, or use coding to develop interactive simulations.
Explore how media influences and reflects culture by analyzing films, advertisements, and social media content. Students can research cultural trends, create multimedia presentations, and discuss the impact of media on society.
Combine ethics, social studies, and technology to discuss ethical issues related to digital media, such as privacy, copyright, online behavior, and digital citizenship.
Blend business studies with media and technology to teach entrepreneurship and digital marketing skills. Students can develop business plans, design marketing materials, and create digital advertising campaigns.
