After LAUSD Background Check Clearance: Next Steps for Field Experience
Once a student teacher, intern, or practicum student has been fingerprinted and shows as cleared in LAUSD’s system, they are provisionally cleared to begin their field experience.
To remain eligible and continue in their placement, they must complete the required steps outlined below.

1. Completion of the LAUSD Field Experience Next Steps Checklist
All candidates must complete the checklist, which outlines the required steps needed to maintain eligibility for field experience.
2. Acknowledgment of District Policies and Procedures
All student teachers and practicum students serving in LAUSD classrooms are required to read and understand the bulletins and policies included in the Google Form below.
Candidates must review each linked bulletin as they complete the LAUSD Acknowledgment of District Policies and Procedures: Practicum Field Experience form.
3. Application for LAUSD Email Single Sign-On (SSO)
To gain district access, candidates must apply for an LAUSD email Single Sign-On (SSO) through the OneAccess Portal.
Portal: https://oneaccess.lausd.net
Must be submitted on a computer connected to the LAUSD network at the school site.
Current LAUSD employees do not need to complete this step.

The Teacher Development and Support Branch will approve all SSO access requests.
4. Completion of the Mandatory Field Experience Orientation
All candidates must complete the LAUSD Field Experience Mandatory Orientation, unless exempt as noted below.
The orientation provides essential information regarding district policies, expectations, and available resources.
Required for:
New and returning student teachers
Counseling practicum students
Early education candidates
Not required for:
Current and active LAUSD employees
Teacher residents, OT/PT interns, SLP interns, PSA/SSP interns, and School Psychology students (if onboarding was previously completed by the appropriate LAUSD department)

Counseling practicum students must also complete and submit the School Counselor PPS Fieldwork Supervision Agreement to:

Once received by School Counseling Services, the candidate will be cleared to begin accruing hours.
